At The Woodlands, we take great pride in the “heart” we have to offer to our residents and our family members and friends.  The heart of our home has been years in the making and is evident by the great care, outstanding services and loving atmosphere experienced here.  It is always the heart that sees, before the head can see.  The cornerstone of our “heart” is our outstanding ownership.  The Woodlands is proudly and privately owned by Diederick Van der Velde, an individual who so willingly gives back to our fine community, our residents and our staff.  His philosophy about ownership, effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes.  Our owner gives us the tools to obtain the results that have catapulted us into an autonomous position in the healthcare industry.  He brings years of industry leadership to our organization and his “hands on” approach to management is the secret to our ongoing success.

His passion for the healthcare industry is emulated through the compassionate manner in which The Woodlands team provides outstanding delivery of services, ultimately making the difference in our residents’ quality of life. 

Though his career takes much time and commitment, Diederick is first to tell you that his family is the most important thing in his life.  He and his wife Amy have three children Ryley, Case and Murphy.
